Victor Hugo's dream
En 1999 visited, en el Museo d’Ixelles de Bruselas, la exposición titulada: “Hugo designer. 1802-1885″. The visit proved to be key, rewarding and a great encouragement for my work on paper. I remember I took some leave the Museum and the climate that generated those works. In some cases it was only simple but evocative landscapes inks, travel, stories, places and a fusion of images that ranged from painting to literature with a background and content that surpasses the role, making it much larger. Perhaps the shock came also to see embodied in a statement the connections between poetry, literature and painting; all matters which are for my source of growth, expression and that together they can potentially open other visual landscapes and imaginary parallel. The sepia and brown tones, freedom of implementation, inks and poetic potential, imagination and aesthetic encounters Victor Hugo as an artist in my retina remained. Eight years after visiting the exhibition paints a picture, that upon completion will be unveiled, for me, as an encounter with the author and the suggestive world of his gouaches and ink. Unsought, came as a dream and a personal pictorial interpretation of the experience, but far enough in the practice of the works of Victor Hugo. This was the title of Table “Victor Hugo's dream”, done with mixed media on panel, format 122 x 100 cm . The play was winner 2007 Competition XIV Women painters of the East of Asturias.
