Illustration

Emilio UrberuagaThe last weekend of November 2010 I was lucky to be among the 16 people who shared an intensive workshop with Emilio Urberuaga illustration, in Museum ABC Drawing and Illustration Madrid, organized by Ilustrarte. Participants, most illustrators, some fellow graduates in Fine Arts and even a painter colleague, had in common a bombproof involvement not get up as head of work and wanted to take the experience to the fullest. It was a pleasure of living and working, Nati and Tatiana took care of every detail Ilustrarte full and I was absolutely delighted with Emilio, not only as illustrator of course, but as a person. It is rare to find an artist (although he does not like so called, it is) so human, so humble, so charming and such a good mood. The human quality also adds to the artistic quality, I would even say that the former is absolutely essential, find people generous and respectful is always a gift and an example.

    • As Francis Ford Coppola says in one of his last interviews “Learn about the world, learn about people, learn… the film is to learn”. I subscribe to everything else.
